Beltacular Fashion and 5 year old fashion logic

Obviously right now, belts are hot. Everyone is belting everything. Long shirts, dresses, everything. I have never been a big fan of belts personally, but would really like to expand my repitoire to include at least a few. Can't fall behind the trends, now can I?

I took my 5 year old clothes shopping for school clothes as she will be starting kindergarten in a month and of course, with her behaviour, she will be the queen bee so she must dress like one. We went to the mall, and she walked in, started throwing skirts and shirts on the stroller (her little brother was covered in clothes) and then goes "Ok, I'm ready to try on!"...I walk to the dressing room with her and I get "Mommy, I can do this myself, get out!!" She's FIVE. She is such a diva. She's trying on plaid skirts and the fingerless gloves that come to the elbow..., sequin belts with long shirts, leggings...she is too cute. Already a fashionista. She has had her own style since she was about 3. She will not wear clothes unless SHE picks them out. She is very into skirts with leggings underneath. We can certainly learn a thing or two from her.

Until next time bitches

Happy 4th!!

Is it a crime against fashion to wear flats?? We, of course, today went to a family cookout and I wore some very cute thong sandals with shorts and a 4th of July Tshirt. I very much fit in with everyone else at my Southern family's laid back cookout, but couldn't help but wish that I had on something a little more dressy, and with heels. I am not sure why I feel this way. Is it because I am filled with images from Vogue of beautiful people frolicking on the beach in their Oscar de la Renta gowns and their Christian Louboutins, and therefore I feel like this is what is "normal"? Let's face it, in small town south, I would for sure be the odd woman out for wearing anything other than what I did today. But is that necessarily a bad thing? Is it worth having 20 people walk by you on the street thinking "what is SHE wearing??" just to have that 1 who knows fashion to go, "those gladiator heels are TO DIE FOR". I , on most days, feel absolutely YES. It is totally worth it. If you are a fashionista and love to wear new things, mix and match and take your cues from the runway, GO FOR IT. I remember having my gladiator heels before a lot of people in my town. I bought them online, and when they came in, my husband was like "those are the ugliest effing shoes I've ever seen"...a couple of weeks later, he's out with his friends and said he say more than one girl with them on..."ok, ok, I guess they ARE a hot item right now"....

So, the question of the day is...flats vs heels. I am not really one to go with comfort over looks. Never have been. I have always been a believer in you ALWAYS go with what looks better, shoes were not made to be comfortable. Also though, being a woman of smaller stature (4'9") I generally always choose heels over flats!
What are your thoughts? I know most people (especially those with kids) may not agree with me, and let me tell you, it is not always easy to walk around with a kid on your hip in 5 inch heels. However this is my life!

Until next time bitches.

Emma Watson, All Grown Up

Has everyone seen the issue of Elle UK with Emma Watson on the cover?? Is she FABULOUS or what???!! I am a HP fan, so of course I am excited...she is so grown up and looks HOT! WAY TO GO EM! Only 19, and I'll bet that shoot was SO much fun. She is also gracing the cover of Teen Vogue and looks SUPER cute. The accessories from this shoot were to DIE for. And the purples and blues and fuscias that she is wearing...they are def in for the fall.

Big accessories are also going to be in this fall...big earrings, big chunky necklaces, giant rings...but as we all know, pick and choose...don't wear them all at the same time. Also, this black nail polish won't seem to go away. As of now, this is going to be a hot item yet again this season.

I can't believe its already the "middle" of the summer. I hope everyone is having a good summer so far! Being at home, I have been able to practically LIVE in bathing suits and sundresses this summer (YAY!)Unfortch, just being home, my poor gladiator heels have been locked away in their box in my closet for a while now. BOO. I am thinking of making my trip to the bank this week a special occasion, however, and bringing them out, just to wear them there, with my shorts...hey, if its good enough for Nicky Hilton, right?

Until next time bitches.
